Members of Florida ALAS attended the 3rd Annual ALAS National Assembly and Awards Gala which was held in Washington, DC, on April 27, 2017.
Leaders in education and policy from across the nation gathered to discuss innovative solutions to the challenges facing our school districts and the students they serve, driving a collective voice for ALAS. Participants also visited Capitol Hill to discuss with congressional representatives and key policy makers issues affecting their school districts and ALAS' efforts to bring a collective voice to national education issues.
During the evening, ALAS also held its 3rd Annual Awards Gala. The evening began with a networking cocktail reception at the historic Mexican Cultural Institute, followed by a plated dinner and awards ceremony, celebrating those making a unique, positive impact on our nation's districts, schools and students.
FL-ALAS FOUNDING PARTNERS
The 2017 Spring FL-ALAS General Meeting took place on Monday, May 22nd from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The meeting was held at Memorial Regional Hospital South located at 3600 Washington Street in Hollywood, Florida. The event celebrated the end of another school year and provided attending members with several organizational updates. We also shared our vision moving forward and introduced our newly appointed Board of Directors. The evening also recognized several of our founding partners, including Memorial Healthcare System who generously sponsored a buffet dinner, prepared by their culinary staff, as part of our evening celebration.
We thank all members in attendance and wish everyone a successful end of the 2016 - 2017 school year!

FL ALAS MEET & GREET
ALAS members from across the State of Florida gathered in Tampa, Florida, on April 4, 2017, to discuss Florida legislative education updates and challenges facing Florida school districts and the students they serve. Participants also discussed issues affecting their school districts across the state and Florida ALAS' efforts to bring a collective voice to State education issues.
